About Ware Dickensian

COVID-19 Update

As I am sure you will be expecting with the current circumstances and uncertainty about large gatherings we have made the decision to cancel Dickensian 2020 and replan for
3rd December 2021.

Please do check our website or Facebook Page for any further updates

It is estimated around 10,000 people join us in the streets and in local shops of Ware to celebrate the start of the Christmas period!

The Drill Hall offers 45 wonderful small trader stalls, selling a variety of classic present ideas, just in time for Christmas.

Handmade decorations, children’s clothes, home décor and sweet treats are just a few examples of what is on offer inside!

The café area attached to the Drill Hall will also be open for you to warm yourself up!

Tudor Square, located in the middle of the town, is home to the town’s local charities and clubs, putting on entertainment and food and drinks to help raise money for their activities throughout the year!

Live music will also be playing in the square throughout the evening

Don’t forget there is also the turning on of the mighty horse-chestnut tree in Tudor Square by the Mayor at 7pm!

Hertfordshire traders and other local groups will be lining the pavements all the way along the High Street and Baldock Street.

Lots of food and drink vendors will also be available to serve you up a range of foods from Roasted Chestnuts to Hog Roasts, keeping the hunger at bay while you browse the outdoor stalls!

Many of our local shops stay open for the evening, so pop in and see if they have any treats or offers for the Christmas period!

Thomas Birch's funfair will join us again in Amwell End

Previous years we have had a variety of entertainment throughout the town.

The Rock Choir joined us last year, with over 160 singers in total!
