Booking Information

Booking information for Dickensian 2017 on Friday 1 December 6.30pm to 9.30pm.

With the agreement of the police and Hertfordshire Highways, we shall be closing Amwell End, Baldock Street, Church Street, East Street, High Street and West Street and diverting traffic away from the town centre. This is necessary for safety reasons.

As last year there will be stalls in Tudor Square and the Drill Hall reserved for local groups and charities and spaces available to local craft people. Our charges for the stall spaces are outlined below and are based on the costs of advertising and the additional expense of road closures – in total around £5,000.

All stalls will need a RISK ASSESSMENT, but we can help you with that.  

You will also need PUBLIC LIABILITY INSURANCE and, unfortunately, that is something we cannot help you with.

TUDOR SQUARE

BOOK YOUR TUDORS SQUARE STALL HERE

1 x three-metre pitch with electricity (for lighting only)– must buy multiples if you need more than three-metres
You must provide your own tables/gazebos/market stalls
Layout design is here – please indicate your stall preference
If planned works take place in Tudor Square you will be notified and moved to a new spot
Set-up of stalls from 4.30pm

Costs:

All prices include booking fees.

Tudor Square Community Group: £20

West Street Community Group: £20

Sole Traders: £40

Commercial, Alcohol and Food Outlet: £75.00 (Community groups contact us if you are not sure what fees you should be paying).

HIGH STREET and BALDOCK STREET

BOOK YOUR SPACE ON THE HIGH STREET OR BALDOCK STREET HERE

These areas are reserved mainly for business stalls but due to lower capacity of Tudor Square local charity stalls will be accommodated.

Price does not include electricity – if you need electricity you will either have to bring a generator or negotiate with local shops for a power supply
You must provide your own tables/gazebos/market stalls

THE DRILL HALL

1x Go-Pak table 5’ by 2’6 – must buy multiples if you need more than 1 table
Electricity is available to some of the stalls adjacent to the walls.
Please indicate your preferred space and we will do our best to accommodate
Set-up of stalls from 4.30pm

Costs:

Local Craft Stall: £45.00 (inclusive of online booking fees)

Note: Stalls should have their own public liability insurance and provide a risk assessment when booking. We reserve the right to refuse a booking. We are also required to provide details of the Food Hygiene Certification for stalls serving food.

OTHER ENTERTAINMENT

Bands, choirs, dancers, carol singers, fairground rides, amusement park stalls and a host of other activities will be going on throughout the town.

If you are interested in performing please do get in touch and we will try and accommodate your group as best we can.
